    Collapse research overview
Dr. Artz's research includes development and validation of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methods for measuring renal perfusion and hepatic fat content. He has also developed a technique for distortion-free MR imaging near metallic implants that creates higher signal-to-noise levels than conventional scans and allows spectral decomposition. The method required very long scan times initially, but he and his team found intriguing solutions for accelerating the scans that enabled in-vivo imaging. Dr. Artz is currently working to optimize neonatal and pediatric imaging settings for a new, low-field, portable MRI that allows bedside imaging.
