Dr. Randell aims to improve health across the lifespan and interrupt generational cycles of violence through primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention of adolescent relationship abuse (ARA) and intimate partner violence (IPV). Her research focuses on healing-centered engagement approaches to promote healthy adolescent relationships and support ARA and IPV survivors in pediatric health settings. Current projects include 1) evaluation of a brief intervention to promote healthy adolescent relationships and provide point-of-care ARA harm reduction resources in the emergency department setting and 2) evaluation of a dyadic middle school adolescent and parent ARA prevention intervention in pediatric primary care.

Multi-level Emergency Department Intervention to Reduce Pregnancy Risk Among Adolescents
Role Description: In this cluster randomized controlled trial we will evaluate our novel approach to increasing adolescent access to sexual reproductive health and mental health care. Adolescent leaders from partner community organizations will recruit friends to form small networks. We will randomize networks to community-level intervention or multi-level intervention. We will use mixed-methodology to assess intervention feasibility and explore contextual factors at the individual, interpersonal, and community levels.
