Overview Research Dr. Lim-Beutel is the Associate Director of the Comprehensive Colorectal Center at Children's Mercy Hospital Kansas City, and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. She is an active member of multiple surgical societies, including the Association for Academic Surgery, American Pediatric Surgical Association, and the Pediatric Colorectal and Pelvic Learning Consortium.
Her research focuses on the disease processes that led her to a career in pediatric, and specifically pediatric colorectal, surgery. She is particularly interested in using innovative ways to bring quality surgical care to low- and middle-income countries through academic global surgery. Long-term functional outcomes have been a significant part of her work, particularly with regards to quality of life and social and sexual function in children and adolescents who have had pelvic surgeries.
