His research career began in a yeast bench research lab at the University of Colorado studying the interactions of a molecular chaperone protein before transitioning to clinical research during his pediatric residency and cardiology fellowship at Duke. Currently, Dr Forsha is the Director of Cardiovascular Imaging Research within the Heart Center and Co-Chairs the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) Research Committee. This research has translated into over 40 peer reviewed publications and book chapters. He has regularly been invited to give educational and research lectures at conferences for the ASE, AHA, ACC, World Congress, and Euro-Echo. Dr. Forsha also mentor's young researchers in the field at Children’s Mercy, through his work at the ASE and the PRIISM initiative.
