research overview Dr. Chan is a pediatric radiologist with an engineering background who is very interested in exploring how new technologies can be harnessed to improve patient outcomes. His work is primarily in clinical research that aims to evaluate the effectiveness of technology in diagnosis of disease. Currently his main research focus is conducting multiple multi-center prospective and retrospective studies using ultrasound to diagnose veno-occlusive disease earlier. Dr. Chan also works on a number of collaborative studies with other clinical departments to evaluate the efficacy of imaging for diagnosis of various diseases such as necrotizing enterocolitis, foreign bodies, congenital cardiac disease and craniofacial anomalies.
