the objective of this study is to test the efficacy of near-normal glycemic control with or withour verapamil on preservation of beta cell function in the recent diagnosis period for type 1 diabetes. Near-normal glycemic control is achieved via hybrid closed loop insulin delivery; verapamil has been shown to improve insulin secretion from beta cells. This study is a randomized controlled trial.
