This translational project is led by Dr. John Perry of Children’s Mercy Research Institute and the specific aims are to identify the pro- vs. anti-cancer cellular immune response to current clinical vs. targeted anthracycline treatment, determine how targeted anthracycline treatment, unlike the clinical dose, eliminates chemoresistant leukemia cells, and define an anti-cancer treatment protocol optimizing anti-tumor immunity while avoiding broad cytotoxicity and resistance.
